Night and Day

Working on my gouache skills, I imagined, brushed, washed, and daubed my way to these two landscapes this morning. Misty mountains under some alien moon and verdant coast with hills and mountains piled high, night and day. I’m more of a drawer than a painter, and so working with paint helps me think in new ways, in terms of light and values and, with watercolor and other wet paints, impermanence and flux.
